Use Case
GoCharting’s Trade Journal and Ledger automatically records every executed trade with timestamps, prices, and P&L, while the Ledger provides a comprehensive view of realised and unrealised performance. Together they form the backbone of performance-based trading improvement.
Strategy
Review your Trade Journal weekly. Sort trades by outcome and look for patterns in your winners and losers: are you cutting winners too early? Are losses consistently exceeding your stop? This analysis transforms raw trade data into actionable improvements for your strategy and psychology.
Common Mistakes
Do not ignore your trade journal data. Avoid only reviewing winning trades — your losing trades contain the most actionable lessons. Do not use the Ledger for daily P&L obsession; focus on weekly and monthly statistics that smooth out individual day-to-day variance.
